Holding trade fairs and congresses in Cologne has been generally permitted once again for some weeks now. However, the current situation still holds quite a few uncertainties for planning events.
For this reason, the Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) has put together a guide in German and English to support event planners and enable them to be clear about what is involved in organizing their event in Cologne. This guide translates the aspects covered in the decree regarding protection against new cases of infection with the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (also referred to as “CoronaSchVO”) of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia into a clearly defined checklist. This enables event planners to create required hygiene and infection prevention concepts. In addition, the CCB provides a form template so organizers can satisfy the corresponding safety and hygiene requirements. All of the information is collected at location.koelntourismus.de/en/eventplanning-coronavirus.

“Guests can hold their business events without concerns in Cologne,” reassures Dr. Jürgen Amann, CEO of the Cologne Tourist Board. “The companies of the sectors trade fair, hotel, venue, mobility and trade are thoroughly prepared and working according to the required high standards of safety and hygiene. We look forward to a large number of events. Cologne is ready.”

All in all, Cologne offers an excellent event infrastructure which planners can also rely on at the moment. The local sector partners are working hand in hand in order to make business events possible without problems.
