Night at the museum – The artists are on the loose

Mom, I want to go to the mummies” is probably one of the phrases I said the most in my childhood. At a time when my parents had to drive me from one Egyptian exhibition to the next. My passion for museums was sealed early on.

Whether you study each individual exhibit intensively or devote yourself to the works that catch your attention, museums are important and far more than just modern dust collectors. They tell us stories, take us on a journey and, in the best case, change us for the better.

Do you have a favorite museum? Especially when you’re new to a city or just on vacation, it’s difficult to find museums that inspire you. Reviews on the internet are often contradictory and the prospect of expensive tickets with no guarantee of entertainment can quickly become demotivating. If you know these thoughts too, then I have something great for you.

H2: Everything you need to know about Museum Night Cologne 2022

After a two-year break, Museum Night Cologne returns on November 5. Since 2000, Stadtrevue Verlag has been organizing an event that transforms the entire city into a Mecca for art lovers and museum enthusiasts. It starts at 19:00 and ends at 01:00 at most stations, in some places even at 02:00.

You will not only experience baroque art and modern sculptures, but also dance, performance art and DJ sets including food and drink. That makes everyone happy, after all, as a night owl you have 46 different art venues to choose from.

I still remember a statue whose head was a bee’s nest and hard techno sounds coming from large speakers a little way off. But conventional museums and quiet sounds are also included. Just as you like it.

Where can you get tickets and what specific events are there?

  • the tickets cost 22 € and can be booked on this page. They are valid from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. and also serve as your ticket for local public transport, allowing you to move easily from one place to another
  • Children up to and including the age of 15 and persons accompanying people with disabilities do not pay for tickets, but must identify themselves accordingly at the entrance
  • At your first stop, which you choose freely, you will then receive an admission wristband with which you can easily visit any event
  • An overview of the entire program including guided tours, performances and other specials can be found here
  • If you have any questions during the course of the events, or if you only want to book a ticket in the evening, then the three information centers (Neumarkt, Deutz station, in front of the Museum Ludwig) are your first port of call

Everything is taken care of on Museum Night. Tickets are easy to book, transportation is uncomplicated and the participating museums are inspiring. So nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable night in Cologne. If you haven’t booked a room with us yet and are ready to fall into bed afterwards, then click on “Find out more”. If you have any questions, our team is also available by phone or e-mail at any time.
